Report: Woman hit by fire, then theft

JONESBORO, Ark. – A series of unfortunate events seem to have plagued the life of a Craighead County woman, her report with authorities said.

The report was made with Craighead County Sheriff’s Office at about 5 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 340. The woman told Deputy Bobby Swan her house had caught fire Sunday, March 12. Since then, she has been cleaning up and going through her property.

However, along the way, she began to notice several valuable items were missing.

She’s suspecting someone stole the valuables in the middle of her crisis, hoping no one would notice. The items include:

  • An Apple Macbook ($900)
  • A CD Reader ($50)
  • Two Nikon Cameras ($1,000)
  • A String of Pearls ($500)
  • Six Silver Coins ($100)
  • A Wedding Ring ($3,000)

Such a theft would exceed $1,000, placing it in the felony category of charges.

No suspects were indicated to authorities in the report.
