JONESBORO, Ark. – Two are suspected of robbing the Valero gas station on Nettleton Avenue in Jonesboro and security footage is giving us a look into what happened.
At 8:15 a.m. on March 8, two armed suspects entered the Valero gas station, a probable cause affidavit suggests. One wore a red Razorback hoodie, black pants, black and white tennis shoes and a blue bandana around his face, while the other wore a black hoodie with white zippers and white pull strings, blue gray white pants, white and red tennis shoes and a blue shirts underneath the black hoodie with a red “MARVEL” tag on the bottom.
The two deviants, seen coming from the apartment complex across the street, enter the store and demand money from the clerk. While the clerk opens the registers, the suspect in the red hoodie begins to take the cash himself while the suspect in the black hoodie can be seen on the other side of the counter. The two allegedly stole $565.00.
Then, a customer walked into the store and becomes a victim. The male walks in and the suspect in the black hoodie pulls his gun, the affidavit describes, and robs him of $40.00.
In the day that followed, a witness came forward and identified the suspect in the black hoodie as Monqrea Buchanan. Security footage from the Tobacco Store was collected and showed Buchanan and another male subject making a purchase.
He was arrested on March 9.
On March 12, Buchanan was mirandized, the affidavit says, and admitted to robbing the Valero gas station. He also reportedly admitted to being the suspect in the black hoodie who robbed the man who entered the store at gunpoint.
Buchanan faces a felony charge of aggravated robbery, which carries a sentence of 10 to 40 years or life. His bond is $250,000. His next court appearance will be at 8:30 a.m. on May 30 in the Craighead County Courthouse.
Another suspect, Lindrica Demetria Goldston, was arrested for allegedly dropping off the suspects in her blue Ford Explorer before picking them back up following the robbery. Her vehicle can be seen in security footage pulling out of the Nettleton apartments and driving toward where the suspects’ clothing was later located.
Police have not released any information regarding the arrest of the suspect in the red hoodie, seen below.
