ATV reported stolen from man's truck

JONESBORO, Ark. – After arriving home late, a man decided to unload his all-terrain vehicle after a short wait. That is when the ATV was stolen.

Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched to the 1100-block of Oriole Drive on Monday, Feb. 27, to investigate the theft of an ATV. Officer Stephen Eaton made contact with the victim, who said he had arrived home very late, around 5:15 a.m., planned to unload his ATV later on.

Those plans went awry when sometime between 5:15 a.m. and 6 a.m., an unknown suspect stole his green Arctic Cat 650 4X4 out of the bed of his truck. The keys were reportedly left in the ATV, the incident report says, but the victim said he had trouble starting it the day before.

Tire marks in the grass indicate that the suspect took the ATV from the truck bed, then took it around the north side of the house in the yard and through the neighbor’s yard on to Pomona Drive. Eaton noted it’s unknown where the suspect went from there.

The officer investigated several businesses to search for possible security camera footage but came up empty. The ATV was registered as stolen.
