Man accused of shoplifting DVDs at Target

JONESBORO, Ark. – A Paragould man is accused of coming to Jonesboro to steal.

Jeremy Ryan Brown, 30, of Paragould, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Jonesboro. Jonesboro Police Department Officer Keith Baggett was dispatched at 2:30 p.m. to Target at the Mall at Turtle Creek in reference to an adult male shoplifter in custody by security. 

GetPhoto (1).jpgThe incident report states the suspect was observed by security going to the men’s department and picking out a man’s shirt and men’s handbag. He then allegedly went to the movie area where he picked out eight DVDs.

The report says he was seen placing the DVDs in the handbag and walking toward the registers – then bypassing the registers.

He was stopped outside of the store by security and escorted back to the security office. The report says the merchandise was returned.

Brown was arrested and taken to Craighead County Detention Center, charged with shoplifting less than $1,000. He was released a few hours later on a $770 bond.
