JONESBORO, Ark. – A man arrested on drug charges knew he was in trouble from the moment he was pulled over by police, the report says.
At 10:19 p.m. Tuesday night, Officer Bryan Bailey with Jonesboro Police Department was traveling southbound on Gee Street behind a 2010 Nissan SUV. The vehicle reportedly came to a stop at the Washington Avenue intersection, then while in the southbound lane, instead of the turning lane, turned east. This began the traffic stop.
As Bailey approached the vehicle, the driver, Brian L. Moore, 28, of Jonesboro, stuck his head out the window and said, “You might as well go on and call my parole officer!” according to the report. Bailey also noted he could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle, so he told Moore to shut the vehicle off and exit, along with Moore’s girlfriend, who was in the passenger seat.
“This is harassment,” Moore stated, according to the report. He continued by complaining he had been pulled over multiple times during that week.
However, as Moore exited the vehicle and walked over to the patrol unit, Bailey noticed a clear plastic baggie that contained a white rock-like substance. The suspected methamphetamine was where Moore had been sitting.
Moore was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine. As noted in the report, he was also on parole. He was taken to Craighead County Detention Center.
