JONESBORO, Ark. – Jonesboro police are searching for two men who shot a 21-year-old in a parking lot early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the parking lot in the 1200 block of Links Circle about 2:30 Tuesday morning in response to a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, officers were met by two men, one of whom was suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper extremities.

Detective Vic Brooks said the victims reported that they were sitting in a vehicle when a dark-colored car pulled in behind them and two men exited the car and approached them offering to sell them marijuana.

The two suspects got into the back seat of the victims’ vehicle, and one of them produced a handgun, robbed the victims of an undisclosed amount of cash and fired several rounds, striking one of the victims, 21-year-old Chancellor Vent, officers were told. The other victim, Cody Beliew, 21, was not struck by gunfire, Brooks said.

Vent was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being transferred to a Memphis hospital, Brooks said. The wounds are believed non-life-threatening.

Anyone with information may contact Brooks at (870) 935-6710 or Crime Stoppers at (870) 935-7867 (935-STOP.)
