Hair extension bandits steal almost $1,800 worth

JONESBORO, Ark. – A group of women are suspected of forming a criminal trio to swipe hair extensions from a shop in Jonesboro.

Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched at 4:15 p.m. Thursday to Wigs, Beauty, N’ More on South Caraway Road. The manager said between noon and 12:30 p.m., three black females entered the store and began looking around at items.

The three were in the store for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. They made a purchase and then left. But the manager later discovered they had taken more than what was bought, wrote Officer Keith Baggett.

“The video shows the three suspects looking and standing in the aisle with the hair extensions,” Baggett reported. “Two of the females appear to be looking for or toward where (the manager) was while the third suspect takes the merchandise from the racks and slides them underneath a large zippered coat she was wearing.”

All three suspects were wearing heavy zippered coats or jackets and each could be seen taking the merchandise and concealing them under their jackets, Baggett said. After each finished, they proceeded to go to the register where they made a purchase and left the store.

The suspects were seen entering a blue Honda Accord, possibly a 2005 model, unknown license plates, and leaving the parking lot.

Anyone with information regarding the crime may call the Jonesboro Police Department at (870) 935-5553 or Crime Stoppers at 935-7867 (935-STOP.)
