Noise complaint leads to meth arrest

JONESBORO, Ark. – A call to police about noise at an apartment complex led to a suspect with warrants being arrested Wednesday night.

At about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jonesboro Police Department arrived at 2210 Sybel Drive at an apartment complex, where a noise complaint had been made. The residents of the specific apartment in question came to the door and one, Dawn Elkins, 35, was shown to have warrants out of the city and a bench warrant out of the county.

GetPhoto (5).jpgElkins was arrested and searched. A bag of white crystal-like substance believed to be meth was found along with a glass pipe. Elkins also said she was on probation but had not been keeping up with her probation officer.

Elkins was booked on possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, both felonies. She was also cited on warrants for non-payment of fines and failure to appear.
