Guns, valuables stolen from home

JONESBORO, Ark. – Several burglaries reported Tuesday involved little or no stolen property but one involved many significant belongings being taken.

Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday to the 1800-block of Covey over a residential burglary. Officers spoke to the victim, a woman who had left for work that morning and returned home after 5 p.m to find her home ransacked. The front door was kicked in and several items were reported stolen.

Several guns were reported stolen, including a Taurus 1911 .45 caliber chrome handgun with black grips and a gold safety. Also, a nickel plated Smith and Wesson .38 revolver was stolen. Various watches were taken. A 60″ Panasonic flat screen television was also taken.

The culprits face at least three felonies, including residential burglary, theft over $1,000 but under $5,000, and theft of a firearm. If you can help authorities find the victim’s property, call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP.
