JONESBORO, Ark. — While Jonesboro police were investigating an early morning break-in attempt that had just occurred on Thursday, they learned the same suspects from the surveillance footage had already moved on to another store one town over.
The Jonesboro Police Department responded to an alarm call at 1:07 a.m. Thursday at Plaza Pharmacy, 3001 Apache Drive in Jonesboro. When they arrived, they found the store’s owner had already responded to the break-in attempt and was able to pull surveillance footage from the cameras.
According to a police report, the break-in attempt started at 12:42 a.m., only 25 minutes before JPD officers responded to the alarm. The victim and officers watched as two suspects from the footage tried multiple times to break the store’s security glass with rocks and physical brute force.
The suspects were able to shatter the front door glass and bust one of the sliding doors, but they couldn’t get in, according to police and the two suspects fled the scene.
The break-in attempt at Plaza Pharmacy may not have been successful, but the excitement wasn’t quite over for police or the building owner. While officers were investigating the surveillance footage and damage, it just so happened that the victim received a call from another alarm company claiming that his store in Lake City had just been burglarized as well.
The owner was able to pull footage from his Lake City store and sure enough, the same suspects that evaded police and fled the Jonesboro scene decided to try their luck one more time in Lake City. According to a police report, the same suspects are also being linked to another attempted burglary that occurred Wednesday morning at The Medicine Shoppe.
Each suspect is described as a black male with their height between five feet and eight or nine inches. One male was described as lighter skinned while the other kept his face covered with a bandana.
