JONESBORO, Ark. — A woman’s Sunday started in a scary way when she opened the door to find someone had put her apartment at risk of catching on fire.

Jonesboro police responded to the arson report at about 8 a.m. Sunday at the 200-block of Cedar Street. The victim told police she had heard a noise outside her apartment door Sunday morning. When she opened the door, she found a cardboard box in flames.

Not the way anyone wants to begin their day.

The box fell into the victim’s apartment when she opened the door but a good samaritan helped her toss the burning box back out. A small amount of damage was done to the bottom of the door.

If you can help police find the perpetrator(s), it could mean cash for you. Call 935-STOP to report it to Crimestoppers. You may report crime anonymously.
